SCORE Retired executives to mark 40th anniversary at banquet

YOUNGSTOWN -- SCORE, a service corps of retired executives, will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the organization during a banquet to be held Oct. 26 at Kilcawley Center on the campus of Youngstown State University.
The purpose of SCORE is to help clients by giving them sound business advice and by helping them write business plans. The organization provides face-to-face counseling and local workshops.
There are more than 10,500 volunteer business counselors in 389 chapters throughout the United States. The Mahoning Valley Chapter 112 is composed of five teams. Each team has 35 counselors with a variety of business backgrounds.
Through in-depth training and counseling, SCORE volunteers help prospective business owners and managers identify problems, determine the causes, and find solutions.
