Jackson-Milton perfect in triangular



NEWTON FALLS -- The Jackson-Milton High volleyball team swept two matches in a non-conference triangular Saturday at Newton Falls High.
The Bluejays (12-10) defeated Lisbon 25-23, 26-24 and Newton Falls 25-23, 25-15. Against Lisbon (6-12), Rachel Karash had 13 points, an ace, five kills and 22 digs. Laura Yash and Scarlet Chepke each added six blocks, while Megan Whitmer had 10 assists.
In defeating Newton Falls, Krista Kiraly had 14 points and three aces, and Chepke eight kills and 10 digs.
Newton Falls (1-19) was led by Lindsay McCartney's seven points and two aces and Molly Lenarcic's five kills and five blocks.
Lisbon 24-25-15, Newton Falls 26-15-13
NEWTON FALLS -- Ashley Adams had seven kills and three blocks and Melissa Brown seven points and two aces for the Blue Devils.
Brittany Hall and Lenarcic each had eight points and three aces for Newton Falls.
Howland 25-25-25, Boardman 19-16-19
HOWLAND -- Jaime Kelly had 14 points, three aces, 21 kills, three blocks, one dig and one save. Brittany Kelly had 11 points, four kills, 25 assists, two blocks, eight digs and one save and Taylor Summerfield had eight points, four kills, three assists and four digs for Howland (16-6).
April Melquist had three points, two aces, 10 kills, five blocks and 10 digs, while Alyssa Calautti had six points, two assists and nine digs for Boardman (6-16).
Northwest 25-19-15, Hubbard 23-25-9
CANAL FULTON -- Callie Oyler led the Eagles with seven kills. Corrie Gasser had 21 assists and Kylene Hoch had 27 digs. Northwest improved to 19-3.
Lake 15-25-15, Hubbard 25-20-13
CANAL FULTON -- Oyler led the Eagles (17-5) with 13 kills. Kate Tobey had nine kills and Gasser had 29 assists. Lake improved to 17-5.
