Hubbard streaks past Champion, 48-0



HUBBARD -- Tony Giancola ran 10 times for 55 yards and threw a pair of touchdown passes as Hubbard beat Champion 48-0 in a Trumbull Athletic Conference game Friday.
Brian Boyce ran five times for 31 yards and had touchdown runs of 2 and 18 yards for the Eagles (7-0, 5-0).
A 22-point second quarter allowed the Eagles to take a 28-0 lead at the break.
Giancola caught three passes for 142 yards for the Eagles, who had and 18-5 edge in first downs.
For Champion (0-8, 0-5), Jack Toriello ran 13 times for 43 yards.

BROOKFIELD -- Sean McBride returned two punts for touchdowns to lead Lakeview.
Matt Kohuth added 1 and 30 yard touchdown runs for the Bulldogs, while Kevin Albert tossed a pair of touchdown passes to Nate Province and Trevoe Mathews.
Lakeview (4-4, 2-3 TAC) had 200 of its 245 yards on the ground, while Brookfield (3-5, 1-4 TAC) managed just 56 yards on the ground and another 65 passing.

LIBERTY -- In the fourth quarter, Chris Harden scored a 2-yard touchdown to tie it and John Humphrey kicked the winning conversion point for the Leopards (7-1, 4-1).
Brad Blevins scored a 4-yard touchdown to give the Tigers (2-6, 2-3) a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
The Leopards went up 8-7 at the break when Brian Jones passed 11 yards to Marcellus Bowman.
In the third the Tigers took a 14-8 lead on Mike Pelyak's 4-yard touchdown run.
Harden ran 18 times for 72 yards.
Pelyak was 7-for-13 for 57 yards.
