9 other Chevrolet vehicles will make their debut by mid-2005

The automaker introduces new vehicles throughout its lineup.
The Cobalt isn't the only new Chevrolet model.
Chevy is in the midst of a 20-month period that will include 10 new vehicles by mid-2005.
The most glamorous of the new vehicles is the sixth generation of the Corvette. The coupe and convertible models of the legendary sports car are completely new, and Chevrolet says they have more power, better handling and reduced weight.
Features
The all-new engine pumps out 400 horsepower with a top speed of nearly 190 mph. The car can reach 60 mph in about four seconds.
The body style features the first exposed headlamps on a Corvette since 1962. The car is 5 inches shorter, which reduces weight and makes the car more aerodynamic.
Chevy says the car has larger wheels and tires, more powerful brakes and a sophisticated chassis control system that give the 2005 model the best handling in the car's 52-year history.
On the other end of the car lineup is the new Aveo, an entry-level small car. The Korean-made car gives Chevrolet a car at a price point lower than the Cobalt.
The Aveo comes in a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback. Chevy said it expects the model to be popular because of its standard features and powertrain warranty that lasts for five years or 60,000 miles.
New models
The new vehicle barrage began in 2003 with the Malibu Maxx.
The Malibu is a traditional sedan, while the Maxx is an extended sedan features a split-folding rear seat that can be moved about 7 inches up or back. The rear seat also reclines and can be folded flat.
Also new in 2003 was the SSR, a sporty pickup truck. The SSR has a retro design on the outside and a powerful, 390-horsepower engine on the inside.
Chevy also is introducing some new light-truck models, including the Equinox, a compact sport-utility vehicle, and the Uplander, a minivan. The Colorado, a new midsize pickup, was introduced last year.
The introduction of the new models will conclude next year with the HHR, a small car with a retro design, and its next-generation Impala.
