Bankruptcy at Born2Run
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Born2Run Sports Complex in neighboring Springfield Township didn't file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as expected Wednesday but could do so as early as Friday.
Thomas Linton, chief executive officer and majority owner of the facility, said Wednesday that details of the filing were still being worked out and it probably won't be filed in federal bankruptcy court in Erie until Friday.
The complex, which opened in April, was unable to keep up financially with the scope of the project as it developed. It was originally pegged as a $4.5 million development but grew to $11.5 million, and Linton said financing didn't keep pace with the increased size of the project.
Born2Run intends to keep operating its sports and other programs during the bankruptcy reorganization, he said.
