TAC VOLLEYBALL Hubbard seals crown by beating Brookfield



The Eagles remain unbeaten in the TAC and will end loop play tonight.
BROOKFIELD -- The Hubbard High volleyball team clinched the Trumbull Athletic Conference championship outright Tuesday with a 25-17, 25-23, 25-20 win over Brookfield.
The Eagles (17-3, 13-0 TAC) will finish the TAC season tonight at Girard.
Danielle Nock had 13 points and 11 kills for Hubbard before leaving the match with a knee injury. Corrie Gasser had 28 assists and Kyle Hoch had 29 digs.
Laura Klouse had 10 blocks, Morgan Bonekovic had 18 kills and Katie Gething had 11 points for Brookfield (11-10, 6-7 TAC).
Girard 25-25-25, Newton Falls 10-18-18
GIRARD -- Chelsea Morrison had 11 kills and five blocks to lead the Indians (17-4, 11-2 TAC). Brittany Kay added 11 points and seven digs.
For Newton Falls (1-13, 0-11 TAC), Lindsay McCartney had six points, two aces and six blocks while Molly Lenarcic had six blocks and five kills.

LIBERTY -- Michelle Antonelli had 43 assists, and Lindsay Whetzel added 13 kills and 22 points for the Bulldogs (14-7, 8-5 TAC).
Chenelle Mills had 18 kills and 27 digs for the Leopards (8-11, 5-10 TAC) while Jessie Szakacs had 31 assists.

LEAVITTSBURG -- Heather Pegg had 14 kills and Chentel Greathouse 26 assists for the Golden Flashes (6-11, 3-10 TAC).
For LaBrae (12-9, 6-7 TAC), Maddie D'Orio had 15 kills and Lindsey Higgins 23 assists.
