NEW MIDDLETOWN -- Lindsay Johnson had 11 points, 21 kills and three blocks Tuesday as the Springfield High volleyball team won the Inter-County League title for the third straight year with a 25-11, 25-16, 20-25, 25-12 win over Mineral Ridge.
Rachel Mincher had 10 points, two aces, six kills and two blocks while Ashley Avnet had 18 points and four aces for the Tigers (16-5, 8-1 ICL).
Abbey Kiger had four points, four kills and six blocks and Rachael Siler had five kills and four blocks for Mineral Ridge (13-7).
Jackson-Milton 25-25-18-25, Lowellville 16-19-25-22
NORTH JACKSON -- Rachel Karash produced 14 points with five aces for the Blue Jays (8-10, 3-5 ICL). Megan Whitmer added 17 points with 63 sets and 23 assists.
For the Rockets (5-13, 1-8 ICL), Kathy Peterson collected 15 points, two aces, seven kills and 17 attacks. Lyndsay Wilson added eight points, two aces and 20 assists.
Rayen 25-24-19-25-16, Ursuline 10-26-25-23-14
YOUNGSTOWN -- Taneil Jackson had 16 kills, four aces, Joi Smith had seven aces and Brittany Hines had four aces and 26 assists for Rayen (11-9).
Poland 25-25-25, Struthers 10-15-13
POLAND -- Dee Muransky had 13 kills, 20 digs, seven points and an ace for the Bulldogs (13-8, 8-3) in their Metro Athletic Conference match. Mollie Patrick added 10 assists, two kills and a block.
Struthers was led by Nicole Robenolt with five kills and 15 digs. Brianne Ciccone had five assists.
Howland 25-25-25-25, Canfield 9-23-27-10
CANFIELD -- Jaime Kelly had 10 points, four aces, 24 kills, five blocks, nine digs and two saves to lead Howland.
Taylor Summerfield added 25 points, eight aces, nine kills, six digs and two saves for the Tigers (13-6, 6-4 MAC).
For Canfield (11-8, 6-5 MAC), Stephanie Jarvis had five points, four aces, six kills and 25 digs and Natasha Kassim had six kills, five blocks and 15 digs.
Lordstown 25-25-25, Maplewood 16-18-9
CORTLAND -- Jennifer Russ had 31 points, Alycia Israel had 17 assists and Christa Israel had 11 kills for Lordstown (18-1, 13-0) in a Northeastern Athletic Conference match.
Maplewood is 11-10, 9-4 NAC.
West Branch 25-25-25, Akron Springfield 14-15-9
AKRON -- Dena New collected 12 points, an ace, one save, two kills, a block, 22 assists, 14 passes and a dig for the Warriors (16-5, 9-4 Northeastern Buckeye Conference).
Evelyn Woods added 13 points, three aces, seven kills, four blocks and 13 passes.
Springfield is 3-15, 0-12 NBC.
