Board sets fee schedule for students in athletics
CORTLAND -- It would cost $500 for a Lakeview High School student to participate in athletics if voters reject a 4.5-mill additional operating levy on the November ballot.
The school board adopted the fee schedule Monday that will take effect for the 2005-06 school year if the levy fails.
The $500 fee for ninth- through 12th-graders applies to football, baseball, softball, track, volleyball, cross country, soccer, golf, basketball, cheerleading and class executive committees.
Middle school athletics costs $200 to play. That covers track, cross country, eighth-grade football, intramural sports, basketball, volleyball and cheerleading.
The fees for co-curricular activities from elementary through high school is $100. That includes prep bowl, language clubs, National Honor Society, band, student council, choir and other activities.
Board members previously voted to curtail busing to the state minimum for the next school year if a 3.4-mill renewal levy on the November ballot doesn't pass.
