Parents reveal Smik-Mazzella wedding plans

XThe engagement of Kristine M. Smik, 7401 E. Parkside Drive, Boardman, and Michael J. Mazzella, 101 Montgomery Drive, Canfield, is being announced by their parents.
The bride-elect is a daughter of Joe and Sandy Smik, also of 7401 E. Parkside Drive, and the future groom is a son of Bernice Mazzella, 3876 Edinburgh Drive, Austintown, and the late Julius Mazzella.
An open ceremony has been planned by the couple for 2 p.m. Nov. 13 at Old North Church in Canfield. They will extend invitations for their evening reception at the Maronite Center, Youngstown.
Miss Smik is employed by Austintown Local Schools as a fourth-grade teacher at Watson Elementary School. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in education and from Ashland University with a master's in curriculum development.
Mr. Mazzella, an account manager with Thomson West in Cleveland, earned a bachelor's degree in biology at YSU and received his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.
