COLUMBIANA -- Hollywood and Halloween are themes in 34west Theater Company's next murder mystery dinner theater production at Das Dutch Village Inn, 150 E. state Route 14.
"Perry Columbus and the Bride of Franklin Styne" was written by Stephen Baldwin, artistic director of 34west. He portrays main character Perry Columbus, a detective who is sent to investigate a murder on the set of a low-budget horror film titled "The Bride of Franklin Styne." Many popular horror movie stars are working on the movie, and none of them is above suspicion -- not even legendary actor Sir Drake Cula, played by Jeffrey Querin.
It's up to the audience to help Columbus interpret the clues and catch the killer.
Performances will be Oct. 27-30. Guests will be seated at 6:45 p.m., and a four-course meal will begin at 7 p.m. Soup and entrees are served buffet-style; beverages and desserts are brought to each table.
Tickets are $40, or $35 each for parties of eight or more. Call the inn at (866) 482-5050 to make reservations.
The theater group also will perform "Christmas at the Inn," a collection of seasonal songs and sketches, Dec. 1-4, 7-9 and 15-18, also at Das Dutch Village. Additional shows are planned for 2005.
34west is a 4-year-old faith-based company that specializes in family entertainment. Actors in its resident company have professional experience in theaters from coast to coast.
