Retired and Senior Volunteer Program to mark 30th year



SEBRING -- Volunteer Services Agency Inc. will mark the 30th anniversary of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program during a recognition luncheon planned for noon Oct. 19 at Tall Oaks Banquet Center, 230 S. 12th St.
In 1988, VSA accepted sponsorship of RSVP, which had begun as a program of Catholic Service League in 1974. RSVP has been active in Mahoning County for 30 years. In Sebring and surrounding communities it has been a presence for 25 years.
Past RSVP volunteers, station managers, advisory council members and administrators may join in the celebration. Anyone who has been associated with RSVP is asked to contact Rosemary Chase, RSVP program assistant, at the Sebring office at (330) 938-2161 or Maureen Drummond, program director, at the VSA office at (330) 782-5877 to make luncheon reservations.
Tickets are $10 for guests. There is no charge for current RSVP participants.
Entertainment will be provided by Eddie Durkin.
Volunteer efforts
VSA, located in Boardman, works to mobilize and coordinate volunteer activity throughout the community. It provides resources and assistance when needed to enhance community cooperation. Those who are 55 and older and interested in volunteering in western Mahoning County should contact Chase at the Boardman or Sebring office.
