MLS ROUNDUP Saturday's games

Crew 1, MetroStars 1
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Jeff Cunningham scored in the first half and the Columbus Crew extended their MLS-record unbeaten streak to 17 games. The Crew did not make the playoffs last season, but now have won eight games and tied nine in their streak.
Sergio Galven Rey scored on a penalty kick in the 71st minute to tie the game for the MetroStars. The kick was awarded after Duncan Oughton fouled Eddie Gaven in the penalty box. Cunningham, who nearly won the game for the Crew in the 75th minute when he fired a shot off the cross bar, scored his ninth goal of the season in the 26th minute.
The MetroStars outshot the Crew 20-6, but Columbus goaltender Matt Jordan had several good stops, including two on Galven Rey.
United 1, Revolution 0
WASHINGTON -- Christian Gomez scored in the 32nd minute to give D.C. United the win over the New England Revolution. Gomez took a cross from Ben Olsen and was left alone long enough to bury a shot into the right side of the net for his second goal of the year.
D.C. extended its home unbeaten streak to nine games and kept its hopes for the second seed in the playoffs alive. United (10-10-9) trails the MetroStars by one point in the Eastern Conference. The two teams will meet Oct. 17 in this year's final MLS regular-season game.
New England (7-13-9) is winless in its last four road games and has beaten United just once in the last eight meetings. The Revolution can still reach the playoffs if they beat fourth-place Chicago next Saturday.
United and the Revolution combined for six yellow cards, and D.C. midfielder Dema Kovalenko was sent off with a red card in the 74th minute. Freddy Adu, who scored the game's only goal in United's win last week over the MetroStars, didn't enter Saturday until the 85th minute.
