Gift certificates are prizes in contest
If you know where to find a Graniteware Chrystolite coffee pot or an Elvis Presley bear, you might want to enter the Mercer Fall Scavenger Hunt sponsored by the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce.
Those are just a couple of items participants in the fall hunt must find to win gift certificates for use at participating businesses. Participants also must solve this puzzle: "With all these movies, it's easy to find a 'Reflective Star.'"
Actually, finding the items on the list shouldn't be too difficult. Various items can be located at the 120 participating businesses. Hunters can secure a form at any of those businesses, locate the items on the list and have their form stamped.
Once all the items are located and the puzzle solved, participants just leave their forms with one of the businesses. The contest has begun and runs through Oct. 31.
The participating businesses are Courthouse Square Dry Goods, Curves of Mercer, Dotty's Sewing & amp; Alterations, The Gallery, Jodie Roberts Styling Salon, Mercer Mercantile & amp; Soda Shoppe, Mercer Hardware, Shannon's Kandy Kitchen, Showtime Video and Swindy's Floral Creations.
