Fitch, Boardman finish 4th, 7th



MASSILLON -- The Austintown Fitch High volleyball team finished fourth and Boardman was seventh at Saturday's Federal League tournament at Jackson High School.
Fitch defeated GlenOak in the first round, then dropped matches to Perry and Lake. The Falcons won the tournament last season -- although they finished second to Perry in the overall standings -- en route to their third state tournament berth.
Boardman lost to Perry and GlenOak in the first two rounds, then defeated McKinley 25-22, 25-22.
Jackson defeated Perry, 25-17, 25-14, in the championship match, but the Panthers still finished first in the league standings due to their regular season performance.
Jackson was second and Lake was third.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Michelle Pelini had 25 hits, 11 kills and 12 points, Dayna Daltorio had 17 hits, 11 kills, 18 points and five aces and Danielle Daltorio had 43 sets, 18 assists, five kills and seven points for Mooney (14-3).
Rayen is 9-9.

EAST LIVERPOOL -- Beverly Young had five spikes and one block, Kandace Turner had 13 points and Danielle Pecchia had four digs and one block for Youngstown Christian (10-6).
