Game time: 1:30 p.m. at Cameron Stadium, Washington, Pa.Series history: W & amp;J leads, 23-2, and won last year, 26-17.Scouting report: Westminster didn't play last week while W & amp;J defeated Thiel, 34-10. Senior RB Scott Froelich of Westminster ranks No. 5 in the nation in rushing yards per game (162.0) in Division III. Froelich also ranks No. 15 in all-purpose yards per game (173.5), and is No. 31 in scoring (11.0). His 254-yard rushing effort in a 41-22 win over Hiram is fourth-best in Div. III this season. In the Titans' most recent game, a 23-13 win over Thomas More, Froelich rushed for 186 yards and three TDs. Senior QB Joe Getsy (Lowellville) was 5-for-13 for 77 yards and one interception. Junior WR Jake Buzard (West Middlesex) caught two passes for 18 yards, while senior WR Brian Ekis (Boardman) caught one for 35 yards. Senior OG Brad Hochendoner (Ursuline High) of Lake Milton was named Offensive Titan of the Week, while junior DB Tom Froelich was named Special Teams Titan of the Week for his punt and kick returns. In W & amp;J's win over Thiel, senior DT Rocco Nori (Niles) forced a fumble that was returned for a W & amp;J touchdown. W & amp;J had four sacks in the game, and is averaging 39.4 points a contest. MOUNT UNION (4-0) vs. WILMINGTON (2-2)
Game time: 1:30 at Mount Union Stadium, Alliance.Series history: Mount Union leads, 6-0, including a 58-0 win last year.Scouting report: Mount Union routed Capital, 49-7, last week, while Wilmington beat Heidelberg, 26-14. MUC's offense is led by QB Zac Bruney, who is 58 of 93 for 882 yards and seven TDs. The top receivers are Joe Bugara (six catches, 27.3-yard average, 1 TD), Scott Casto (11-19.9-2) and Jason Cavell (11-17.2-2). Leading RBs are Jeff Strauch (270 yards, 3 TDs), Aaron Robinson (252-1) and Rick Ciccone (213-4). The defense is led by LBs Shaun Spisak (29 tackles) and Anthony Frate (27) and S Ken Whitfield (21). Wilmington's offense is led by QB Cam Marsh (500 yards on 47-for-75, 1 TD), WRs Deon Short (13 catches, 12.8-yard average, 1 TD) and Marque Jones (9, 20.1, 1), and RB Jermaine Isaac (204 yards, 77 attempts, 3 TDs). HIRAM (0-4) vs. DENISON (2-2)
Game time: 1 p.m. at Charles A. Henry Field, HiramSeries history: Denison leads, 4-0, winning last year, 17-8.Scouting report: Denison dropped a 47-21 decision to Wittenberg last week, while Hiram lost to Earlham, 40-0. Denison had four defenders making 10 tackles or more, with Rob Hackett leading with 15. QB Larry Cappetto was 11-for-25 for 153 yards and one TD while WR Mike Kushner had two catches for 58 yards and Phil Bouwhuis rushed for 58 yards. Hiram trailed 28-0 at the half and wound up yielding 637 yards to Earlham while mustering only 179. The Terriers got a good performance from senior DB Jim Conley who made eight tackles and intercepted three passes. Conley leads the NCAC in interceptions with five in four games. Hiram's offensive leaders were junior captain Tim Anderson (74 yards in 22 carries), junior QB Max Kravitz (71 yards passing on 9-for-26) and junior receiver Niarchos Kincaid and sophomore Greg Kibler with three receptions apiece. Other defensive leaders for Hiram were junior captain Mike Erkkila (10 tackles), junior Stephen Boxler (9) and junior Brandon Savage (7).
THIEL (3-2) vs. GROVE CITY (3-2)
Game time: 2 p.m. at Robert E. Thorn Field, Grove City, Pa.Series history: Grove City leads, 55-31-5, winning 16-15 last year.Scouting report: Thiel lost to W & amp;J, 34-10, while Grove City rolled past Bethany, 63-6. Senior QB Darrell Satterfield of Thiel was 28-for-52 for 272 yards and one TD. Junior WR Dane Haskins caught a career-best 10 passes for 272 yards and one TD, while Brandon Chambers (Farrell) had nine receptions for 97 yards. Freshman TB Steve Minton rushed for 83 yards in 18 carries in the first half, while Paul Stibich kicked a 28-yard field goal. Two Grove City Players won PAC honors for the game. Junior FS Ross Trimmer (Hickory) was named Defensive Player of the Week, while junior QB Bradford Clark was named Offensive Player of the Week. Trimmer had eight tackles and two interceptions, including one for a 100-yard TD. It was the longest play and return in school history. Trimmer had 137 interception return yards to set a school single-game record, and tied for the school single-season mark set by Henry Horvat in 1967. Clark had 201 total yards and was involved in four TDs. WALSH (4-1) vs. QUINCY (3-2)
Game time: 2 p.m. at QU Stadium, Quincy, Ill.Series history: Walsh leads 1-0, winning 49-28 last year.Scouting report: Walsh rallied from a 10-point deficit to beat Malone, 27-17, to retain the Dick Gallagher Memorial Trophy. Sophomore Chase Hostetler rushed for 159 yards in 38 carries and three TDs, and was named MSFA Mideast Offensive Player of the Week. He leads the MSFA in rushing with 708 yards for a 4.1-yard average and has scored nine TDs. Junior OLB Allen Reddick had 11 tackles. Quincy blanked Taylor last Saturday, 24-0. The Hawks' defense turned in one of its best performances of the season. Quincy contained Taylor to 123 total yards, only 16 on the ground. Senior Tim Bliefnick led the defensive charge with 12 tackles, while senior Kehan Rahming had 10. Senior QB Dan Riley was 11 of 18 for 91 yards and one TD to senior Billy Survillion, who caught six passes for 40 yards. Game time: 2 p.m. at Fawcett Stadium, CantonSeries history: Geneva leads, 6-5, and won last year, 42-6.Scouting report: Against Walsh, Malone sophomore QB Brad Reifsnyder was 26 of 43 for 326 yards and one TD with three interceptions. Freshman WR Mike Clapham had seven receptions for 91 yards, while senior Nyrell Knight had five catches for 88 yards and one TD. Senior RB Eric Smith rushed for 48 yards and one TD. The Pioneers' defense was led by senior LB Jim Fletcher with 16 tackles while junior LB Kevin Andrysek had 12. Geneva lost to St. Francis (Ind.), 30-24. Starting QB Justin Sciarro suffered a knee injury in the first half and was replaced by Bobby Bondi, who completed 10 of 17 for 133 yards and one touchdown. Josh Mullen rushed for 102 yards and two TDs. Game time: 1 p.m., Selby Field, Delaware, OhioSeries history: Allegheny leads, 17-3, and won last year, 20-12.Scouting report: Allegheny lost to Wooster last week, 35-13, while Ohio Wesleyan lost to Wabash, 17-14. Allegheny sophomore RB Mario Tarquinio enjoyed his first 100-yard rushing game with 117 yards in 14 carries, including a career-best run of 42 yards. He scored his first college touchdown on a 9-yard run. Sophomore QB Jimmy Savage was 11 of 24 for 79 yards and one TD. The Gators' top receiver was sophomore Dallas Robinson with four receptions for 47 yards and his second touchdown of the season. Junior LB Adam Duncan made 10 tackles while senior CB Steve Williams made nine tackles and broke up two passes. Ohio Wesleyan's defense was led by junior LB Jeff King with 14 tackles. SLIPPERY ROCK (3-3) vs. INDIANA, PA. (3-2)
Game time: 6 p.m, Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium, Slippery Rock, Pa.Series history: Indiana leads, 43-33-2, including a 27-14 win last year.
Scouting report: Slippery Rock's three-game winning streak was snapped by California (Pa.) last week, 34-31. Indiana beat previously-unbeaten Shippensburg, 17-0, to lead the PSAC West. In a special ceremony before Saturday night's game, Slippery Rock will retire football jersey No. 82 that was worn by Jim McElhaney, who died in July 2003. McElhaney was an All-America WR for The Rock in 1963, and later was the school's WRs coach for 14 seasons (1988-2002). The Rock's offense is powered by redshirt junior RB Josh Kniess, who has rushed for 100 or more yards seven times in his three-year career. Last week, he finished 1 yard shy of 100. Kniess leads the PSAC in punt returns with a 15.5-yard average, and is second in all-purpose yards (172.5 per game), third in scoring (11.0 points per game) and fourth in rushing (118.5 ypg). He has scored a career-best 11 TDs this fall (9 rushing, 1 pass receiving, 1 punt return) and rushed for a career-best 736 yards this fall.
