TRUMBULL COUNTY Author will speak at banquet



The speaker is a businessman and has written two books.
WARREN -- Author George C. Fraser will be the featured speaker at the annual Warren-Trumbull County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet on Saturday at W.D. Packard Music Hall.
The banquet begins at 6 p.m. A social hour will begin at 5 p.m.
Fraser is the author of the critically acclaimed best seller "Success Runs In Our Race: The Complete Guide to Effective Networking in the African-American Community."

Fraser, a lifetime member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, has been called a new voice for blacks. He is considered by many to be one of the foremost authorities on networking and building effective relationships.
The NAACP is an interracial, interfaith, nonpartisan social-action organization and the oldest civil-rights organization in the nation. The Freedom Fund Banquet is the annual fund-raiser of the local branch.
Fraser's vision is to create a global networking movement that brings together diverse human resources to increase opportunities for people of African descent.
Books, speeches
Fraser is also author of the best seller "Race for Success: The Ten Best Business Opportunities for Blacks in America."
"Success Runs in Our Race" is in its 10th anniversary with an updated reprinting. In 1999, Booklist Magazine selected the book as one of the 10 best books of the year.
Fraser has appeared on more than 250 television and radio talk shows and speaks nearly 120 times per year throughout the world. His talks on success principles, effective networking, wealth creation, ethics and the importance of diversity are popular with professionals and college students.
Over the past decade, the publication "Vital Speeches of the Day" has selected five of Fraser's speeches to be reprinted and distributed worldwide, a first for any professional speaker in America. Upscale magazine named him one of the top 50 power brokers in black America.
Fraser is chairman and CEO of FraserNet, Inc., headquartered in Cleveland. FraserNet Inc. is the publisher of the award-winning "SuccessGuide Worldwide: The Networking Guide to Black Resources," which is published annually.
Other positions
Fraser is also vice chairman and founding trustee of the nonprofit organization Race for Success, Inc., which is charged with nurturing the development of the African-American Business Hall of Fame & amp; Museum and the Center for the Advancement of African-American Entrepreneurship. The former was conceived to celebrate black business excellence of the past, present and future. The objective of the latter is to promote entrepreneurship among blacks.
Fraser spent 17 years in management with Procter & amp; Gamble, United Way and Ford Motor Co. He attended New York University and received his executive training at Dartmouth College.
He was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humane Letters from Jarvis Christian College. He has been married for 31 years to Nora Jean and they have two sons.
