Five patients -- with different forms of cancer -- cope with the last stages of the disease. Their family and friends record their experiences in "The End" (7 p.m., Cinemax), a 90-minute documentary from filmmaker Kirby Dick.
"Stargate SG-1" actress Amanda Tapping hosts "Proof Positive Evidence of the Paranormal" (8 p.m., Sci-Fi Channel), which tries to separate science fact from science fiction.
Not to be confused with that goofy "Ghostbusters" movie, "Ghost Hunters" (9 p.m., Sci-Fi Channel) is a new "docu-soap" that follows a couple of guys (who are plumbers by day) as they investigate haunted houses throughout the country. Just what the world needs: Someone who can unclog your drain and rinse away spooky spirits at the same time.
A new edition of "PBS Hollywood Presents" (10 p.m., PBS Channels 45 & amp; 49) pairs two 45-minute original teleplays, each taking a fresh look at ordinary people who happen to be cops. Starring Blair Brown and Jay Thomas, "Fear" depicts a community meeting between police and local residents on the verge of panic over a series of rapes in their Manhattan neighborhood. Then in "Blind Date," Detective Leonard Manzo (Richard Dreyfuss) visits a neighborhood brothel for an unexpected reason -- just to find a woman he can talk to.
