When: Semifinals are 9 a.m. Thursday; finals are 9 a.m. SaturdayWhere: Weis Park, Canton; Solon High School Community ParkWhen: Oct. 14-16 at Weis ParkDistrict qualifiers: Four singles and four doubles teams will advance to the district at Tri-City Park in Rocky River.Notebook: Fitch, Boardman and Canfield will play in Canton. Howland and Warren Harding will play in Solon. Canfield's Rachel McGowan and Renee Lesnett, who both qualified for last year's state singles tournament, are the top seeded doubles team in Canton.
Division II sectional
When/where: Singles begin at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Boardman High School. Doubles begin at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at Volney Rogers courts. All semifinals and finals will be played on Saturday at Boardman, beginning at 9 a.m.District qualifiers: Four singles and four doubles teams qualify for the district at Jackson Twp. North Park, Massillon.Notebook: Ursuline sophomore Kim Ezzo, the third seed, won last year's sectional singles title. Mooney senior Becca Brocker, the second seed, won the sectional doubles title. Sisters Hilary (junior) and Alison (freshman) Rossi, the top-seeded doubles team, played 1-2 singles for JFK, leading the Eagles to this year's Steel Valley Conference title.
