SOAP SCOOP Daytime TV news
SAY GOODBYE: With serials building up their new fall story lines, several performers will leave their shows in the weeks to come. Last week, Marcy Walker's character of Liza went underground on "All My Children," confirming the actress's decision to depart. Liza may not be gone completely, however. It's possible she'll be back on a recurring basis.
IN SPIRIT: Recurring for a short while is Saundra Santiago's character of Angelina on "One Life to Live." She'll make a few ghostly appearances before her final fadeout.
UNCERTAIN FUTURE: Up for question is whether Sean Kanan will continue as Deacon on "Bold and Beautiful" as his contract comes to an end. The character has had several hot story lines since he joined the series four years ago, and most recently has been an integral part of the love triangle with Jackie and Massimo.
SURPRISES: However, most shocking is the news that Grant Aleksander has been let go from "Guiding Light." Whether the show's decision was story-line-based is open to speculation. In recent months, his character of Phillip has been busily making enemies, so it won't be too surprising if he's bumped off. Meanwhile, some former faces are back for a visit. Wacko doctor Rick Decker, played by John James, is again causing trouble on "As the World Turns," as Barbara attempts to use him to further her own agenda. And on "Days of our Lives," Steve Blackwood has temporarily returned to his role as Bart, the DiMera henchman.
SHAKING THINGS UP: "General Hospital" has added Ignacio Serricchio to its cast as the young man Jax and Courtney unexpectedly take into their care. But this unlikely foster child might shake things up on a more personal level in the weeks to come.
