Fire at nursing home
MORAINE, Ohio (AP) -- A fire closed a suburban Dayton nursing home Sunday, displacing about 150 residents who were moved to hospitals and other care facilities, a fire department official said.
Some residents were pushed out of the home in wheelchairs and beds on rollers, but no one was hurt, Moraine fire Lt. Phil Sinewe said.
Investigators don't know what caused the fire, which started in the attic above the front entryway at Miami Shores Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Residents who use ventilators were taken to hospitals as a precaution, and other residents were moved to other nursing homes, Sinewe said. He said he did not know when residents would be allowed to return.
