1. Fitch (6-0), at North Canton Hoover. The state-ranked Falcons are in the driver's seat for the Federal League title. They return to the road against struggling Hoover.
2. Ursuline (5-1), vs. Akron Hoban. The Irish revealed their potent scoring ability in upsetting Warren Harding. They'll need to be just as powerful this week.
3. Cardinal Mooney (4-1), vs. Cleveland Benedictine. The well-rested Cardinals came off the bye week by pounding Painesville Riverside. Their level of competition is raised this week.
4. Warren Harding (4-2), at Cleveland St. Ignatius. Back-to-back losses have the Raiders reeling. Now they must travel to state-power Ignatius.
5. Beaver Local (6-0), vs. Chardon. The Beavers took care of business against state-ranked Bellaire, 56-13, two weeks ago. Will eighth-ranked Chardon (Div. II) face the same fate this week?6. Hubbard (5-0), vs. LaBrae. Tony Giancola's four touchdowns helped keep the Eagles unbeaten and in the Trumbull Athletic Conference championship hunt.7. Howland (5-1), vs. Niles. Coach Dick Angle was concerned about Salem before the Quakers upset his state-ranked Tigers last week. Niles also proved to be upset-minded, beating Canfield.8. West Branch (3-2-1), at Louisville. The Warriors re-entered the poll after winning their first Northeastern Buckeye Conference game convincingly, 39-0, over Akron Springfield. Louisville poses a major test.9. Salem (4-2), at Poland. The Quakers are riding high after upsetting Howland. Can they make it three straight wins?10. Rayen (4-2), at Alliance. The Tigers had their four-game winning streak snapped against East Liverpool.
SMALL SCHOOLS
(Div. IV-VI)
1. South Range (6-0), at Jackson-Milton. The Raiders kept a firm grasp on the top spot after passing their first big Inter-County League test against McDonald.2. Girard (5-1), vs. Champion. Quarterback Bobby Ovesny and receiver Ryan Collins hooked up four times for touchdowns in a 49-8 win over Newton Falls.3. Liberty (5-1), at Lakeview. The Leopards opened some eyes by shutting out LaBrae's high-powered offense and rebounding from a shutout loss to Hubbard.4. Crestview (5-1), vs. Sebring. The Rebels' fourth straight win, over United, was dubbed "ugly." But they still found a way.5. Warren JFK (4-2), vs. Erie Central. The Eagles survived a tough trip to Steubenville Catholic Central.6. Mineral Ridge (6-0), vs. Liberty Center. The Rams take a week off from their ICL schedule for a non-conference test against Liberty Center (5-1).7. Springfield (5-1), vs. McDonald. The Tigers were well-balanced against Western Reserve and now face a Blue Devils team recovering from a 31-7 loss to South Range.8. LaBrae (4-2), at Hubbard. The Vikings were shut out 38-0 by Liberty, which was shut out 21-0 by Hubbard earlier this season.9. McDonald (4-2), at Springfield. How will the Blue Devils respond to a lopsided defeat against South Range? The Tigers get to find out.
10. Columbiana (4-2), at United. Probably the best match-up in the Tri-County League this week.
