Schimley's 3 goals pace JFK's 5-0 win



He now has 18 goals to become Warren JFK's single-season scoring leader.
BRISTOLVILLE -- Kyle Schimley scored three goals to lead the Warren John F. Kennedy High boys soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Bristol on Saturday.
Schimley scored his goals in the first 17 minutes, the first coming 38 seconds into the game. He has 18 goals for the year, becoming the all-time single-season scorer at Kennedy (6-3-3).
Brian Cullivan added two goals for the Eagles, while Paulo Lucero, Jon Poponak, Jeff Jenkins, Brian Wolnik and Schimley added assists.
Wolnik made three saves for JFK. For Bristol (8-2-1), Matt Yoder made nine saves.
The game was a preview between the third (JFK) and fourth (Bristol) seeds in the upcoming Division III tournament.
Cardinal Mooney 2, Medina Highland 0
MEDINA -- Senior Kiki Willis continued to climb the ladder toward the state scoring record for the Cardinals (10-0-1).
Willis scored a goal in each half to give him 31 this year and 147 in his career.
The Ohio record is 154 goals in a career.
Zack Hernan assisted on a goal and goalie Jeff Seddon had six saves.
Lakeview 3, Ursuline 2
CORTLAND -- With about eight minutes remaining and the match tied, Tyler Young scored for the Bulldogs (13-0-1).
Kevin Coperhaver had a goal and an assist and Josh Daniels also scored for the Bulldogs, who led 1-0 at the break.
Chris DePaolo and Ryan Novotny scored to give the Irish (4-5-2) a 2-1 lead.
Lakeview goalie Alex Koltsov had 10 saves and Jered Daly recorded 16 saves in the Irish nets.
Hubbard 4, Liberty 1
HUBBARD -- Scott Northcott, Brandon Collins, Michael Clemente and Tyler Miller scored for the Eagles (5-8, 4-3) in their Trumbull Athletic Conference win.
Assists were recorded by Anthony Tombo, Billy Williams and R.J. Lee. Hubbard goalkeepers Aaron Severa and Joe Cummings combined for 13 saves.
Liberty's goal was scored by Ryan Karson. James Kelley made 17 saves.
