KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Ruben Gotay drove in four runs with his first major league homer and a triple, helping Brian Anderson and Kansas City snap a seven-game losing streak Saturday night with a 10-2 win over the Chicago White Sox.
Calvin Pickering and Angel Berroa also homered for Kansas City. The Royals already have a franchise-record 103 defeats with one game left.
Anderson (6-12) pitched his second complete game of the year, giving up seven hits. He struck out four and walked one.
Anderson recovered nicely after giving up a home run to Aaron Rowand to start the game.
Jose Valentin hit his 30th homer leading off the fifth. The White Sox, who have won six of their last eight against the Royals, have hit 38 home runs against them this year in 18 games.
Gotay tripled home two runs in a six-run second inning off Jason Grilli (2-3) as the Royals took a 6-1 lead. Facing Arnie Munoz in the fifth, the rookie second baseman hit a 3-1 pitch over the fence in left for a two-run shot.
Grilli walked Matt Stairs leading off the second and then Pickering hit his seventh home run. After Grilli walked the bases full, David DeJesus hit an RBI grounder.
Following Gotay's two-run triple, Joe Randa made it 6-1 with an RBI single. Grilli went 32/3 innings and gave up six runs on six hits and five walks.
Berroa homered with one out in the fifth off Scott Schoenweis.
DeJesus, who had three hits, singled ahead of Gotay's homer. The Royals added a run in the seventh on DeJesus' RBI single.

DETROIT -- Marcus Thames had his first two-homer game and drove in three runs, and Gary Knotts pitched solid ball into the eighth inning for Detroit. Craig Monroe also homered for Detroit, which set a major league record by having 11 players with at least 10 home runs.
Knotts (7-6) allowed one run and four hits, walked two and struck out four in 72/3 innings.
Steve Colyer relieved Knotts with a runner on second and two outs in the eighth and struck out Aubrey Huff to end the inning. Colyer also struck out Tino Martinez looking in the ninth before Franklin German got the last two out, completing the four-hitter.
Scott Kazmir (2-3) gave up four runs and five hits in six innings, walked one and struck out six.
Detroit took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Thames' bloop single to right, scoring Monroe, who had walked with one out and stole second.
The Tigers increased their lead to 4-0 in the fourth on homers by Monroe and Thames. After Dmitri Young doubled with one out, Monroe lined Kazmir's first pitch over the left-center field fence. After Carlos Pena struck out, Thames drilled a shot into the left-center field stands -- estimated at 436 feet.
Tampa Bay got on the board in the top of the fifth on Jorge Cantu's RBI double.
Thames led off the seventh with his second homer of the game, off Chad Gaudin. Thames came in with eight homers. Seven teams previously had 10 players in double figures, including this year's Texas Rangers. The Tigers had 10 with at least 10 homers in 1999.
Tampa Bay left fielder Carl Crawford left in the first inning after bruising his left knee while sliding into first base.
Crawford, who leads the majors with 19 triples, led off the game with a grounder that Detroit second baseman Ryan Raburn knocked down. Crawford, in an attempt to beat the ball out, tried to slide into first. But his attempt to slide came too late and he appeared to jam his leg into the base and flipped over it.
