Urban League acceptingreservations for mixer
YOUNGSTOWN -- Reservations are being accepted now for the Youngstown Area Urban League's annual business and professional mixer, set for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Youngstown Steel Museum, 151 W. Wood St., downtown. Refreshments, music and a Chinese-style auction are planned.
Tickets are $15 and may be purchased from any board member, from the Urban League office staff at 1350 Fifth Ave., Suite 300, or by e-mailing wmronaldmiller@hotmail.com.
Google engineer to speak at Chamber's breakfast
BOARDMAN -- Jim Reese, chief operations engineer of search engine company Google, Inc. and a Canfield native, will be guest speaker for the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber's annual Fabulous Twenty Awards Breakfast, set for 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mr. Anthony's banquet center.
Reese joined Google in 1999 and has played a key role in managing hardware and network infrastructure development to support its growth and expansion. He has a bachelor's degree in biology from Harvard and a medical degree from Yale.
The event, presented by the Chamber and sponsored by the Youngstown State University Williamson College of Business Administration, recognizes outstanding Valley businesses that have showed outstanding growth in employment or sales. For reservations, call the Chamber.
