LAWRENCE COUNTY Drug sweep results in charges against 13
The arrests were part of an eight-month investigation.
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Lawrence County authorities are charging 13 people in a drug sweep.
Police were still searching for three people late Friday afternoon, but all others were either in custody or had been arrested earlier in the day.
Officers from the New Castle Police Department, Lawrence County District Attorney's Drug Task Force and state parole officers set off early Friday searching for those charged.
Eight-month probe
Lawrence County District Attorney Matt Mangino said the arrests were the result of an eight-month investigation by police and the task force. Those charged were part of individual drug buys and not part of a network, he said.
Included in the drug sweep were:
UMichael A. Buxton, 32, of Norwood Avenue, Youngstown, two counts of possession of crack cocaine and two counts of delivery of crack cocaine.
UMichael Jermaine Charles, 31, of Hamilton Street, possession of OxyContin, delivery of OxyContin and criminal use of a communication facility.
UMichael Michael Klingensmith, 29, of Park Avenue, acquisition by misrepresentation and possession of OxyContin with the intent to deliver.
UMichael Mark Cook, 21, of Neshannock Avenue, possession of OxyContin, delivery of OxyContin and criminal use of a communication facility.
UMichael Michael Robinson, 21, of West Washington Street, possession of marijuana, delivery of marijuana and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
UMichael Marcy Napier, 34, of Steinbrink Road, possession of crack cocaine and delivery of crack cocaine.
UMichael Michael Youngworth, 32, of Florence Avenue, possession of OxyContin, delivery of OxyContin and criminal use of a communication facility.
UMichael Jeremy Hurd, 22, of Sciota Street, two counts of possession of crack cocaine and two counts of delivery of crack cocaine.
UMichael Antonio Talley, 22, of Oak Street, two counts of possession of crack cocaine, two counts of delivery of crack cocaine and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
UMichael Krystal Chambers, 18, of Harbor Edinburg Road, Edinburg, two counts of possession of OxyContin, two counts of delivery OxyContin and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
Still sought
Mangino said that two women and a man had not yet been arrested but will also face drug charges.
Those arrested were arraigned by District Justice James Reed. Preliminary hearings will be scheduled for Lawrence County Central Court next week.
