BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Michigan's Chad Henne needed one half to warm up Saturday. Then he spent the third quarter picking apart Indiana's defense.
Henne threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns, and Leon Hart returned a punt 76 yards for a score to help the No. 19 Wolverines rout Indiana 35-14.
The Wolverines (4-1, 2-0) retained a share of the Big Ten lead by winning their third straight game and their 13th in a row against the Hoosiers since 1987.
Indiana (2-3, 0-2) lost its third straight game this year and is 1-14 against the Wolverines at Memorial Stadium.
Henne, a freshman, had a career day despite losing two fumbles. He completed 17-of-21 passes and helped Michigan put the game away with 21 third-quarter points. He sat out in the fourth quarter.
Braylon Edwards finished with eight catches for a career-high 165 yards and caught TD passes of 69 and 38 yards.
Michael Hart ran 20 times for 79 yards and one TD.
Indiana stays close
Indiana stayed close through two quarters, but it didn't take Michigan long to change that in the second half.
Grant Mason took the opening kickoff 2 yards deep in the end zone, sprinted up the middle of the field, down the right sideline, then back across the field before being dragged down at the Indiana 3. Four plays later, Hart crept in from the 1 to make it 21-7.
On Michigan's next series, Edwards beat freshman cornerback Tracy Porter for a 69-yard TD catch with 6:28 to go in the third quarter.
Four minutes later, Edwards again beat Porter and Henne found him for a 38-yard touchdown to put the game away.

MADISON, Wis. -- Tailback Anthony Davis' return from an eye injury sparked Wisconsin's stagnant offense and the Badgers' defense was as stout as ever.
Davis rushed 27 times for 213 yards and three touchdowns in his first action in a month and the Badgers (5-0, 2-0 Big Ten) held their fifth straight opponent to a touchdown or less, a feat they last achieved in 1951.
Davis' biggest run was his last: a 31-yard rumble into the end zone on fourth-and-3 with three minutes left after the Illini (2-3, 0-2) had pulled within 10 points.

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Drew Tate passed for 340 yards and a touchdown and set up two other scores with long completions.
Tate's passing helped the Hawkeyes (3-2, 1-1) amass a season-high 464 yards and break a two-game losing streak.
Jermelle Lewis ran 47 yards for an Iowa touchdown before leaving the game with what appeared to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. His replacement, Marques Simmons, scored on two short runs.
