Halloween fun is planned for Warren parade

WARREN -- The city's annual Halloween parade will be at 2 p.m. on Oct. 31 beginning at Perkins Park.
Registration in the city-sponsored parade is open to any organization, school group, Boy Scout or Girl Scout unit, business or elected official. Participants are asked to decorate entries using either a Halloween or patriotic theme.
Registration forms are available by contacting the mayor's office at (330) 841-2601 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Forms must be returned to the mayor's office by Oct. 15.
The parade route runs from Perkins Park to Mahoning Avenue to Market and High Street and down Harmon Street, ending at the Monroe Street intersection.
Donations from for-profit agencies, politicians and individuals participating in the parade will go to Warren Relay for Life.
Organizers encourage parade participants to distribute candy, but it must be given out by those walking along the route. Candy may not be thrown from a float or vehicle. Only individually wrapped, store-bought candy is acceptable for distribution.
