NEW SPRINGFIELD -- Rob Richards, an official Disney organist, will be featured in a pop organ concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 at Church of God on Garfield Road. Tickets are $15. Call (330) 549-2060. Proceeds benefit the Church Pipe Organ Fund. Richards is the House Organist at Disney's El Capitan theatre in Hollywood. He has given 3,000 performances since 1999. Richards also is a product specialist with Walker Technical Company, builders of the state-of-the-art custom digital instruments. Among his credentials include an album of original music released in 1993 titled "Songs in the Key of Love" and songwriter for KidFit, a children's TV series on physical fitness.
Southern Gospel concert
SALEM -- The Ascensions of Salem are sponsoring a Southern Gospel Concert featuring The Smallwoods of Cullman, Ala., a nationally known family group, at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave., Salem. They will share testimony and songs. A freewill offering will be taken.
Welsh Revival speaker
BOARDMAN -- Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 471 Mathews Road, will have a special program at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 featuring Dr. Eifion Evans of Wales. Dr. Evans will speak about the Welsh Revival of 1904, during which 100,000 people were converted, with less than 20 percent of them falling away in the next five or six years. Dr. Evans, a native of Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire, Wales, is a retired minister of the Presbyterian Church of Wales (formerly known as the Calvinistic Methodist Church). He has written several books on the revival, including "The Welsh Revival of 1904."
Series focuses on nation
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Miracle Valley Church, 2119 Valleyview Road, will show a video series by Dr. Hilton Sutton pertaining to the upcoming election and the nation's future. Video titles will include: "As the United States Goes, So Goes the World," "The United States in Bible Prophecy," " Future of the 21st Century," and "World Affairs." Healing services
YOUNGSTOWN -- There will be healing services at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 6, Nov. 3 and Dec. 1 at St. John Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., next to the main branch of the Youngstown and Mahoning County Library. The service will include communion and is open to all. A part of the service in which members of the congregation may take part if they choose is the "healing" or laying-on-of-hands (on the head) with a suitable prayer. Parking is free. Workshops, revivals
YOUNGSTOWN -- Pastor Kevin Crum Sr. and the New Hope Baptist Church, 437 Albert St., will be holding leadership workshops and revivals from Sunday through Thursday. The nightly workshops will begin at 6 p.m., and the revivals will begin at 7:15 p.m. Dr. Ed Rogers of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala., is the instructor and revivalist. The event is free.
Children, youth service
McDONALD -- Faith Explorers Children's Ministry and Youth Ministry will be performing all service requirements Sunday at Woodland Park United Methodist Church, 601 Ohio Ave. There will be only one weekly service at 10 a.m. Following the service, there will be an open house in the educational unit.
Rosary Cenacle
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., and the Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer Group will have a Rosary Cenacle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Devotions will consist of the rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet recited during the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Refreshments will follow.
King's Kids Club
LIBERTY -- The first semester of the King's Kids Club has begun at Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Road. It meets from 4:45 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday until Dec. 8. YOUNGSTOWN -- The Department of Catholic Charities Services of the Diocese of Youngstown is sponsoring Blessings of Age, an event that recognizes the gifts and talents of older adults, at 2 p.m. Monday at Little Flower Parish, 2040 Diamond St. N.E., Middlebranch, North Canton, and at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., Youngstown.
