MERCER COURT Woman sentenced for thefts at college
An employee of the college took the money in a string of thefts from unattended purses.

MERCER, Pa. -- A Grove City woman was placed on 18 months' probation by Common Pleas Judge Thomas Dobson on Thursday for stealing $925 from residence hall students at Grove City College.
Lori Caulk, 36, of Nicklin Road, pleaded guilty to one consolidated count of theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor. She took the money in a string of thefts from the unattended purses of nine victims, court documents state. She was also ordered to make restitution.

Several others were also sentenced Thursday.
Samuel Breese, 37, of Mercer Road, Jackson Center, was sentenced to one to 12 months in jail followed by six months' probation for recklessly endangering another person, a misdemeanor, and ordered to pay restitution for ramming a woman's vehicle while she and her minor child were inside.
According to court documents, on Jan. 16, Breese twice rammed the rear end of his truck into the truck of a woman he knew, causing $5,500 in damage. The second time, he hit it at a high rate of speed. The episode occurred near an East Crawford Street, Sandy Lake residence.
Richard Cole, 37, of Harrison Street, Sharon, was sentenced to three to 18 months in jail followed by six months' probation for corruption of minors, a misdemeanor. According to court documents, on April 13, he held the arms of a 9-year-old girl so they were in contact with his genitals at an Orchard Street, Sharon, residence.
Terrance Jones, 24, of Rush Boulevard, Youngstown, was sentenced to 12 to 24 months in jail and ordered to pay restitution for felony burglary. According to court documents, on Jan. 2, Jones entered the Hale on Wheels store, 7200 W. Market St., Jefferson Township, intending to commit a burglary. He was also fined $500 for fleeing and eluding, a misdemeanor, for trying to escape police pursuit on East State Street and South Hermitage Road the same day.
Randy Snyder, 28, of Corry, Pa., was sentenced to one month to one year in jail for misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was given credit for 184 days already served. On Dec. 4, 2002, he threatened to kill a man who was a witness to a crime, court documents state. The episode occurred at a Mercer Avenue, Hermitage, residence.
