2 men indicted in assaults on women
MERCER, Pa. -- Judge Francis Fornelli sentenced two men this week in Mercer County Common Pleas Court for assault convictions.
Brandon Consider, 26, of North Hermitage Road, Transfer, was sentenced to two months to two years in jail for misdemeanor simple assault.
On April 28, according to court documents, he hit a man with a shovel, then chokedhim until he was unconscious and bystanders stopped the assault. The assault took place at a College Avenue, Greenville, address.
Robert Brodie, 36, of Hamilton Avenue, Farrell, was sentenced to one to two years on each of two counts of misdemeanor simple assault.
The terms were ordered served concurrently. According to court documents, on March 23, Brodie entered a Hermitage woman's apartment uninvited and slapped her around, then wrapped masking tape around her mouth, nose and head several times while choking her.
On Sept. 26, 2003, Brodie grabbed another woman by the hair and began dragging her, and punched her in the head and face near Kings and Queens Bar, 638 Lee Ave., Farrell.
Several others were also sentenced Tuesday.
UChristopher Dencher, 39, of Edgewood Drive, Sharon, three to 23 months in jail for retail theft, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a summary offense. Dencher fought March 6 with a male employee of Giant Eagle 2365 E. State St., Hermitage, who tried to apprehend him after he stole two packs of cigarettes worth $8.08.
UClyde Richards, II, 19, address listed as Mercer County Jail, 11 to 24 months for felony contraband. On March 22, while an inmate at the jail, he was apprehended with two packets of marijuana, according to court documents.
