XYOUNGSTOWN -- Church Hill United Methodist Church was the setting at 5 p.m. Oct. 29 as the Revs. David Gilbert and Carl West performed the marriage of Amy Ackworth, daughter of Jack and Debbie Ackworth, Hubbard, and Kevin Vail of Poland, son of George and Janet Vail of Austintown.
The couple received congratulations afterward during a reception at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex in Liberty.
Beading accented the bodice and sweep train of the bride's strapless gown of ivory satin. It was designed with a corset V-back and a draped crossover skirt with a beaded insert panel.
Jill Felton of Austintown and Katie Duffey of Boardman were honor attendants. They wore Victorian lilac gowns, as did bridesmaids Jennifer Beeson of Hubbard; Mateja Ribic of Copley; Laura Marcavish of Liberty, the bride's cousin; and Kellie Vail of Boardman, the groom's sister. Anna Marie Scannell of Struthers, his cousin, and Emily Marcavish of Liberty, her cousin, were flower girls.
Brian Vail of Austintown was best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Bryan Danks of Poland; Jack Ackworth of Copley, the bride's brother; Chip Lipka of Canfield; and Paul Fabian of Poland.
The bride is an administrator for Windsor House of Parkside in Columbiana after earning a bachelor's degree in nursing home administration at Youngstown State University. The groom served in the U.S. Navy and is a stationary engineer for Goodyear Tire & amp; Rubber in Akron. They live in Poland.
