CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- Jay Youngblood and DeAndre Haynes each scored 17 points to lead Kent State to a 81-67 win over Shawnee State in the Corpus Christi Caller-Times Challenge on Sunday.
Kent State (4-2) shot 52 percent from the field, while Shawnee State (2-5) shot 42 percent.
Youngblood was 8 of 10 from the field, while Haynes was 6 of 9. Scott Curley had 15 points.
For Shawnee State, Terrence Davison led with 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting.
Aaron Davis had 17 points for Shawnee State.
Wis.-Milwaukee 50, Air Force 45
MILWAUKEE -- Joah Tucker scored 17 points and Ed McCants added 14 to lead Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
The win was the third in as many games to start the season for Wisconsin-Milwaukee, which entered the game averaging 102 points per game.
However, Air Force (4-2) controlled tempo with its deliberate offensive style.
Wisconsin-Milwaukee never trailed until Air Force's Nick Welch made two free throws with 5:06 left to give the Falcons a 36-35 lead, completing a 10-0 scoring run.
The Panthers then responded by scoring 13 straight points, including six from Tucker, to grab a 48-37 lead. In the first half, Milwaukee shot 10-of-18 from the field for 56 percent as it led 24-19 at halftime.
Air Force was led by Welch's 14 points and Antoine Hood's 13 points.
Colorado 66, Northwestern 57
BOULDER, Colo. -- Richard Roby scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds for Colorado. Junior Chris Copeland, making his first career start, added 15 points, including seven in a late 9-0 run that sealed the win for Colorado. Copeland also grabbed 10 rebounds.
Despite good ball movement to create open shots from 3-point range, Northwestern managed only 4-for-23 shooting from beyond the arc. Freshman Vedran Vukusic led Northwestern with 25 points and nine rebounds.
