YOUNGSTOWN -- Shiloh Baptist Church, 238 Bright Ave., will have its fourth annual holiday fest at 4 p.m. Dec. 5. Various choirs from area churches will provide inspirational music.
Annual night of prayercelebrates 15th event
YOUNGSTOWN -- Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 343 Via Mount Carmel, will celebrate the 15th annual national night of prayer for life honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe on Dec. 7.
There will be a vigil Mass at 7 for the feast of the Immaculate Conception; a rosary and prayer for life at 8; and blessing of roses and veneration of the sacred image of Our Lady of Guadalupe at 9. Officiating will be Monsignor Michael J. Cariglio Jr.
Reciting of the rosary
YOUNGSTOWN -- The shrine of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., and the Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer Group will have a rosary cenacle at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Devotions will consist of the reciting of the rosary and divine mercy chaplet during the exposition of the blessed sacrament. Refreshments will follow in the social hall.
Pastor installation service set for Dec. 5
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Jeanine Haven will be installed as pastor of the Hungarian and John Knox churches at 3 p.m. Dec. 5. The joint service will be at John Knox Presbyterian Church, 1806 Market St. A reception will follow in the church hall.
The Rev. Ms. Haven received a master of divinity degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in May 2000. She served the Lutheran Home in Clinton, N.Y., as a clinical pastoral education chaplain for a year. She was ordained June 30, 2002. This is her second call to a pastorate.
Live Nativity in Canfieldat Methodist church
CANFIELD -- Canfield United Methodist Church, 27 S. Broad St., will stage its live Nativity scene from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 5. The church's youths, with live animals and music, will set the scene to usher in the Advent season portraying the Holy Family in a rustic stable. The public is invited. The church is on the village green.
Musical in Boardman
BOARDMAN -- Boardman United Methodist Church praise team will present its Christmas musical "One Incredible Moment" at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 in the church fellowship hall, 6809 Market St. The musical is based on the writings of the Rev. Max Lucado, and music arrangements are by Tom Fettke. The musical is free, but a love offering will be collected.
Rev. Leslie A. Mitchellset for her first sermon
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Rev. Leslie A. Mitchell will preach her first sermon at 5 p.m. Sunday at Everlife Worship Center Assembly of God, 815 Wilson Ave. The Rev. Ms. Mitchell, the daughter of Edna Mitchell and the late Alfred Mitchell, is a Sharon native. She lives in Youngstown with her three children, Erika, Timmy and Brianna.
A no-regrets Christmasat Alliance Church
AUSTINTOWN -- Idaho Road Alliance Church will feature a series called "From Humbug to Hallelujah: Learning Lessons from 'A Christmas Carol'" beginning Sunday through Jan. 2. The series will deal with preparing for Christmas without regrets, and will be at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship services at the church, 250 Idaho Road. The Rev. Bruce D. Rzengota is pastor.

POLAND -- Poland Presbyterian Church's Christmas musical "The First Leon" will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 5 at the church, 2 Poland Manor.
Ventriloquist at Midway
COLUMBIANA -- Midway Church, 13376 Columbiana-Canfield Road, presents "Saturday Night Live," featuring ventriloquist June McLaughlin and her puppet friends at 7 p.m. Dec. 4. Praise music and refreshments also will be featured.
