COLLEGE BASKETBALL Westminster set for title game



Thiel boys and girls teams lost Saturday as did the Hiram girls.
PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Westminster advanced to the title game of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational, as the Titans (3-1) made 21 three-pointers in a 121-110 win over Framingham State (2-1) Saturday.
The Titans will play in the championship game today at 3 p.m.
Mark DeMonaco led Westminster with a season-high 33 points, making 9-of-13 3-pointers. He also had eight rebounds and six assists. Ed Pagley had a career-high with 28 points, including 7-of-11 on 3-pointers. Dom Joseph and Brian Fadden each scored 12 points, while Pat O'Connor added 11.
Baldwin-Wallace 86, Thiel 82
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Thad Davis scored 37 points for Baldwin-Wallace (4-0), ranked 13th in the D3hoops.com poll.
Keith Aufmuth added 16 points for B-W, while Matt Marks (Boardman) and Tori Davis each had 12.
Daryl Moore scored a career-best 33 points for Thiel (1-2), along with four steals and three assists. Percy Sweeting scored 18 points and had seven rebounds, while freshman forward Joe Herrmann had 12 points and four rebounds.
Women
HIRAM -- Hiram lost to Penn State-Behrend, 50-47.
The Terriers (2-2) were led by Amanda Hummel, who scored 13 points. Sophomore Abbey Gorby (East Palestine) scored 10 points, grabbed three rebounds and added one assist. Jessica Harris had 10 rebounds and Tania Carman had nine.
Allegheny 87, Thiel 48
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Courtney Steading scored 11 points for Allegheny and Meredith McDonough added 10.
The Gators improved to 3-1.
Thiel (0-4) was led by Kristen Benjamin, with 19 points and seven rebounds.
