Boardman falls to SVSM in overtime, 68-64



BOARDMAN -- Ashley Ciarrochi scored 25 points, including seven in overtime, as Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary defeated Boardman High, 68-64, in a girls basketball game Friday night.
Kara Murphy added 18 points and Katie Murphy scored 15 for the Irish.
Boardman was led by three players in double figures. April Melquist scored 26 points, including six in the overtime. Jessica Moore scored 16 points and Courtney Schiffauer finished with 12.
Columbiana 59, South Range 41
COLUMBIANA -- Krista Johnson, Whitney Goist and Stacie Cross all scored 12 points for the Clippers in their season opener.
Lisa Simon had five rebounds and seven blocked shots, and Cara Brookhart had five rebounds for Columbiana.
Heather Stacey led South Range (0-1) with 10 points, while Brittany Oliver scored nine. Michelle Pingley had eight rebounds.
McDonald 64, Windham 62
MCDONALD -- In a game played Wednesday, Ashleigh Tondo scored 28 points and had six assists to lead McDonald, which rallied from a 32-25 halftime deficit.
Emily Dolsak added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Blue Devils (2-1) and Ashshena Stephens scored 10 points.
Jodi Stanley scored 17 points for Windham, while Dorothy Bauer added 14 and Allie Roach had 13.
