Foot injury putsHambrick on IR
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Arizona Cardinals backup running back Troy Hambrick will miss the rest of the season with an injured foot.
The Cardinals placed him on the injured reserve list Wednesday and signed Damien Anderson to the active roster.
Hambrick injured his foot Sunday in the Cardinals' 35-10 loss at Carolina.
Hambrick had appeared in all 10 games as a backup to Emmitt Smith, with 63 carries for 283 yards and a touchdown. It was the second stint for Hambrick as Smith's backup. He filled the same role with Dallas.
Hambrick and starting defensive end Peppi Zellner were acquired in a trade with Oakland on Aug. 31. One reason for the trade was that Arizona had lost backup running back Marcel Shipp for the season with a broken leg in training camp.
Anderson was released by the Cardinals in their final roster cuts on Sept. 5. He had spent two seasons with Arizona after signing as a rookie free agent out of Northwestern. Anderson had 42 carries for 133 yards and nine catches fo 72 yards in his previous time with Arizona.
Mickelson shoots 59 to win Grand Slam
POIPU BEACH, Hawaii -- Phil Mickelson shot a 59 on Wednesday to win the PGA Grand Slam of Golf, matching the low score in competitive golf.
Mickelson barely missed a 9-foot eagle putt to the left on the last hole that would have given him a 58 at the unofficial event for the year's major winners. He tapped in for birdie and smiled as the gallery cheered wildly.
Mickelson's 13-under 59 moved him from third place to first, with a 17-under 127 total, which tied the course record. The Masters champion beat PGA champion Vijay Singh by five strokes.
