KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Shanna Zolman scored 14 points and freshman Alexis Hornbuckle added 11 to help Tennessee win its home opener. The Lady Vols jumped out to a 10-0 lead, and George Washington didn't score until 12:19 remained in the first half. Anna Montanana and Jessica Simmonds led George Washington (2-1) with 12 points apiece. Tennessee's leading scorer, Shyra Ely, was held to 7 points on 3-of-5 shooting. But the Lady Vols (3-0) made do without her usual 16 points. Tennessee led by 22 points at halftime, and Zolman started the second half with two jumpers to keep the Lady Vols rolling.
No. 2 LSU 65, Temple 51
PHILADELPHIA -- Freshman Sylvia Fowles had 17 points and 16 rebounds and Seimone Augustus scored 16 points, leading LSU past Temple. Scholanda Hoston and Wendlyn Jones each added nine points for the Lady Tigers (5-0). Cynthia Jordan and Candice Dupree had 14 points apiece for Temple (1-1). The Owls, who trailed by 11 early in the second half, got within 48-45 on a 3-pointer by Ashley Morris with 7:33 left. But Tillie Willis scored a basket, Fowles made a layup and Hoston added a running layup, giving LSU a 54-45 lead.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Camille Little scored 20 points, and North Carolina used a 29-1 run in the second half to rout Charleston Southern. Reserve LaToya Pringle scored 17 points for the Tar Heels (3-0), all in the second half. Ivory Latta and Erlana Larkins added 12 points apiece. Erica McCoy led Charleston Southern (0-2) with 7 points.
No. 9 Baylor 66, Mississippi St. 49
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Steffanie Blackmon scored 23 points and Sophia Young added 13 points and 12 rebounds for Baylor (2-1), which led by as many as 21 points in the second half. Tan White scored 23 points for Mississippi State (1-1), which made only 27 percent its shots and lost for just the fourth time in 55 non-conference home games under coach Sharon Fanning. Tiania Burns added 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulldogs, who haven't beaten a top-10 team since upsetting No. 9 Florida 79-75 four seasons ago.

CHICAGO -- Khara Smith had 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead DePaul. Jenni Dant and Allie Quigley added 18 points apiece and Charlene Smith 14 for the Blue Demons (3-0). Nichole Drummond led Wisconsin-Milwaukee (0-2) with 18 points, and Molly O'Brien had 16.

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Liad Suez scored 18 points and Jennifer Hilgenberg added 16 for Villanova. The Wildcats (2-0), who moved into The AP Top 25 after beating Penn State in its opener Sunday, shot 57 percent. Jackie Adamshick had 10 points and six rebounds for Villanova. Cathy Dash led Fairfield (0-2) with 18 points and Sabra Wrice had 15.
