MADISON, Wis. -- Clayton Hanson scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half as No. 20 Wisconsin beat UC Santa Barbara 72-61 Tuesday night, the Badgers' 30th consecutive victory at home.
Alando Tucker added 16 points and Zach Morley had 14 for the Badgers (2-0), who got four 3-pointers each from Hanson and Morley.
Casey Cook scored 21 points to lead the Gauchos (1-1), who played with just nine players due to injuries.
Indiana 56, Indiana St. 52
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Marshall Strickland made three free throws in the final 12 seconds to help Indiana hold off Indiana State.
Bracey Wright scored 20 points and Strickland added 13 to help the Hoosiers (1-0) end a two-game losing streak against the Sycamores.
Indiana State (1-1) was led by David Moss with 15 points and Amani Daanish, who had 14 points and nine rebounds.
Purdue 66, Detroit 56
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Matt Kiefer and Brandon McKnight scored 19 points each and played key roles in a second-half rally as Purdue defeated Detroit.
Detroit had rallied for a 37-35 lead with 11:43 left in the game when Purdue (1-1) responded with nine straight points over 80 seconds to take a 44-37 lead with 9:31 to go.
Detroit (1-1) twice cut the deficit to two points, but Carl Landry scored seven points as Purdue closed the game with a 9-2 run over the last 2:54. Landry ended the night with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Detroit, led by Ben Green's 12 points, shot 41 percent (23-of-56) from the field.
Iowa 82, No. 15 Texas 80
LAHAINA, Hawaii -- Pierre Pierce hit a 25-foot jumper with 44 seconds remaining to give Iowa the lead for good in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational.
Jeff Horner led Iowa with 27 points. Pierce had 18 points and seven assists. Brad Buckman led Texas (2-1) with 18 points and 11 rebounds, and freshman point guard Daniel Gibson had 14 points and six assists.
