Craft show theft
YOUNGSTOWN -- A Warren woman who set up a table at Stambaugh Auditorium to sell crafts for the Williamsburg Christmas event told police that someone took her red plastic money box while her back was turned Saturday afternoon. The 52-year-old woman said she had $75 in the box from sales. She and other dealers noticed a man walking around the event who appeared to show no interest in the merchandise, but did appear to show interest in money boxes. He was last seen leaving through the auditorium's Fifth Avenue exit.
Youth arrested over shots
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 12-year-old Atkinson Avenue boy was arrested late Saturday, accused of firing a rifle with scope at two children -- 9 and 14 -- who live in his neighborhood. The children's mother said she heard gunfire then saw her son and daughter, who had been outside near the front door, run into the house around 11:40 p.m. They told her the 12-year-old boy had been firing at them. Police found a trail of rifle casings that led from the victims' house to the suspect's house. The boy's mother told police he had not been shooting but she allowed a search of the house. Officers found the rifle hidden under a pile of clothes in the laundry room. The boy was taken to the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center to face two counts of felonious assault.

Wilson described Schulte's yard as strewn with tires, garbage, trash, rubbish, cars, furniture, paint cans, glass, wood and other debris. That case is set for Dec. 21 in Judge Robert A. YOUNGSTOWN -- An armed would-be robber at the Atkins Market on McGuffey Road ran out when the owner dropped to the floor, grabbed a .38-caliber revolver and fired at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, police said. The store clerk followed the truck all over the East Side, getting rammed by it once. She eventually lost sight of the truck, which had three occupants, but did get the temporary tag number, police said.
