Krista Mayes leads Fitch past Chaney

YOUNGSTOWN -- Krista Mayes scored 10 points and had 23 rebounds to lead Austintown Fitch High past Chaney, 34-31, in the season opener for both teams Friday night.
Emily Woodall also scored 10 points for the Falcons, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Courtney Williams and Tieara Jones scored eight points each for Chaney. Nicole Artis had 15 rebounds for the Cowgirls, who had three shots at tying the score in the final 15 seconds.
Youngstown Christian 41,Western Reserve 39
BERLIN CENTER -- Rachel Karstin scored 14 points, Kara Cooper hadded 12 and Beverly Young had 11 for Youngstown Christian.
Sara Kutsko led Western Reserve with 12 points and she pulled down nine rebounds. Saleena Niehaus scored 11 points, while Erica Zimmerman had 13 rebounds.
Youngstown Christian led 21-19 at halftime.
