LAKE MILTON -- One person was injured in a collision of two large construction trucks late Wednesday on a closed portion on Interstate 76 under construction in Milton Township.
The Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said Ryan Hale, 20, of Akron was in a dump truck that was stopped along the south side of the road when a larger construction truck driven by Lucciano Fabbro, 42, of North Royalton, made a U-turn striking the dump truck and ejecting Hale from his vehicle onto the road.
Hale was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center by helicopter, where he was listed in critical condition Thursday. The patrol is continuing the investigation.
McGee to help markNational Family Week
YOUNGSTOWN -- Ben McGee, former Youngstown City Schools superintendent, is the guest speaker for the second National Family Week celebration sponsored by Family Service Agency. The event will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the agency's facility at 535 Marmion Ave., on the city's South Side.
Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with a program to follow that will honor seven families who are involved with the various services offered by FSA.
Delores Crawford, executive director of Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services, will receive a special award for her years of service to Mahoning Valley families.

Thalia Ave. bridge opens
BOARDMAN -- The Thalia Avenue bridge over Interstate 680 is open, the Ohio Department of Transportation announced. Lane restrictions on Thalia and on I-680 might be in effect as contractors finish the work.
Food give-away planned
YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Community Food Center & amp; Gleaners Food Bank will distribute food and ice cream for the needy from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the food bank, 94 Pyatt St. Photo ID and proof of income are required.
Lighting up Bristolville
BRISTOLVILLE -- The annual township park lighting ceremony will be 6 p.m. Nov. 28. The Bristol High School Madrigal Singers will perform. Cookies and hot chocolate will follow in town hall.
Austintown zoning issue
AUSTINTOWN -- The township zoning commission will have a public hearing at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at the township building, 82 Ohltown Road. The commission will consider a request by David K. Riggs, 415 Euclid St., Corry, Pa., to rezone 1.05 acres at North Niles-Canfield Road and Norquest Boulevard from residential to business.
Beaver Twp. Crime Watch
NORTH LIMA -- The next Beaver Township Crime Watch meeting will be a 7 p.m. Tuesday in the activity center at Shepherd of the Valley, 9111 Sharrott Road.
A representative from the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be talking about winter driving safety tips and what to do if you are involved in a crash. Local crime statistics also will be discussed.
Horizon Village events
WARREN -- Horizon Village Nursing & amp; Rehabilitation Center, 2473 North Road, celebrates the holiday season with two events Dec. 17.
The center will host its second annual children's pageant at 5:30 p.m. The event is open to the public and will feature light refreshments and gifts for kids up to age 12.
