'Incredibles' on the Web
Soaring in a theater near you is Disney and Pixar's latest smash animated hit, "The Incredibles." The superhero-themed movie recently opened No. 1 at the box office, and has been critically acclaimed for offering the excitement and action younger viewers crave, but also a level of sophistication and subtlety teens will appreciate. The same can also be said for the movie's Web site, The Incredibles.com (www.theincredibles.com).
The fun begins when you click the "enter" button on the site's introductory page. You are then "scanned" and "cleared for access" to the main site, where you are presented with the film's main characters. Clicking your mouse over a character will reveal his or her profile. Each profile includes the character's physical stats and super powers as well as audio and video clips of some of their funniest and most memorable lines.
You'll also find tons of extra goodies for you to download. For starters, the site offers Incredible-themed IMVironments (interactive Yahoo! Messenger IM backgrounds) as well as "Xtreme Desktops" (desktop wallpaper with clickable trailers, featurettes and more). There are also several games to pass the time, including "Know Your Strength," where you try to harness Mr. Incredible's super-strength to flick wads of paper into a far-off trash can without breaking other items in his office (trust us, it's not as easy as it sounds).
Oh, and let's not forget about the site's "Explore Bob's Study" activity that allows you to snoop around Mr. Incredible's office by clicking on various objects around the room (some of the magazine covers are hilarious). In addition, there are also movie trailers, desktop alarm clocks (!) and too many other extras to name. It's incredible!
If you haven't seen the film, you'll appreciate the site's wondrous offerings -- which do a good job of giving you neat information without giving away too many plot details. But if you have already seen "The Incredibles," you'll appreciate the site even more.

What's so funny?
Amrita Bajwa, a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville, Calif., offered this list of top cartoons to the Contra Costa Times' teen page. (Any other favorites come to mind?)
"Yogi Bear." "Heyyyyy Boo Boo!"
"Johnny Bravo." "Wanna do the monkey with me?"
"Dexter's Laboratory." For the blessed tot's accent.
"Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends." This is fairly new, but, oh dear, is it funny.
"The Adventures of Johnny Quest." You really think I would leave this one out?
"Codename: Kids Next Door." Two words: Rainbow. Monkeys.
"The Looney Tunes Show." Daffy Duck is my alter-ego, I swear.
"Rocky and Bullwinkle." Hokey smoke!
"Evil Con Carne." A talking brain who controls a circus bear.
"The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy." Death lost a LIMBO contest. Awesome.
Cool cards
With the holidays right around the corner, we're already thinking about cards to mail and gifts to send to friends and family. Wrigley's has come up with a refreshing new twist on the holiday card: Instead of warmest holiday greetings alone, you also get some cool gum -- five packs, to be exact.
The card is actually a box surrounding the 5-stick packs. On one side, there's a flap where you can include a message. From there, all you have to do is seal it, put three 37-cent stamps on it and drop it in the mail.
The cards come in three styles: Juicy Fruit, with a picture of Santa on the front; Winterfresh, which pictures a snow globe; and Doublemint, featuring some holiday lights. The cards go for $1.99 each at food, drug and retail stores nationwide.
Bean benefits
It's easy to buy gifts for girls. Example: Pick up some yummy-smelling spa products and the scents go right to the giftee's head. But the market has been flooded with fragrances from floral to fruity. Thankfully, we got the 411 from Bliss, which creates arguably the most delectable scents of all.
New for the fall is vanilla and bergamot (a citrus-y fresh scent), which will leave you pleasantly sweet smelling, but not overwhelmingly of cookies, like some vanilla products.
Put this set on your wish list, or give it to your best friend: Bliss' soft skin kit, "the thrilla' in vanilla."
It contains three favorites in vanilla+bergamot scent: body buff, a shea butter and sweet almond paste which you slather on before hitting the shower to exfoliate, using real vanilla beans; bubbling bath+shower gel, which can be used as a body wash or in the tub as an aromatherapy-laced bubble bath; and body butter, which helps skin retain its moisture throughout the day when used after bathing.
Get the spa set for $35 online at blissworld.com or Sephora.com, as well as select stores.
What becomes of ...
Some people opt to have their deceased pets cremated, only to wonder what to do with the remains once they arrive. At the oddly named All About Pet Urns & amp; Memorial Supply, there are lots of iterations on the standard urn.
Also available: Blooming Remembrance memorials, which incorporate a lock of hair, a heart-felt letter or a "token" amount of remains into a mix of perennial seeds.
