ABWA CHAPTER Cathy Williams receives Dianthus award



The woman of the year has been a Champion businesswoman for 20 years.
HOWLAND -- Cathy Williams of Champion was honored by the Dianthus Chapter of the American Business Wom-en's Association as its 2004 Woman of the Year during a monthly dinner meeting held Oct. 27 at Shepherd of the Valley Assisted Living Center, North River Road, Howland.
Mary Ann Carlino, chapter vice president, presented the award, which recognizes the recipient's contributions to the organization, educational and career accomplishments and community involvement.
A graduate of Mount Union College in Alliance, Williams was a high school English teacher for Toronto City Schools and Bristol Local Schools for 15 years and for the past 20 years has been the co-owner of Williams Photography in Champion with her husband, Jim. They have two children.
She is the chapter's publicity chairman and a past member of its ways and means committee. She also belongs to the Warren-Trumbull Branch of the American Association of University Women and is serving her second term as its membership vice president.
