INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Youngstown State freshman Jessica Fraley was named to the 2004 Horizon League all-newcomer team Wednesday.
Fraley (LaGrange) led the Penguins and all Horizon League newcomers with 339 kills and 3.11 kills per game.
Fraley collected at least 10 kills 19 times and had eight double-doubles.

Attention, winter sports coaches
The Vindicator asks area winter sports coaches (basketball, wrestling, swimming/diving and ice hockey) to send in results of all games. To avoid confusion, coaches should report all games, home and away, win or lose, to ensure coverage.
Results can be called in (330-747-1471, ext. 1292), e-mailed (sports@vindy.com) or faxed (330-747-6712). E-mails and faxes are the preferred method, to ensure accuracy.
Also, coaches are asked to send in preview information on their teams, by e-mail, fax or U.S. mail (P.O. Box 780, Youngstown 44501). Information requested is: coach's name and a convenient phone number to call for information, team roster and schedule, projected starters and key subs, and a short synopsis of the upcoming season (keys to success, league prediction).

Thiel football
GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Chris Hlinka, a 2003 graduate of Chaney High, and Greg Gustovich, a 2003 graduate of McDonald, are members of the Thiel College football team.
Hlinka played in 10 games as outside linebacker for the Tomcats, and had 22 tackles this season. In 2003, Hlinka was awarded with the honor of "Defensive Scout Team Player of The Year."
A major in business administration, Hlinka is the son of James and Marlene Hlinka of Youngstown.
Gustovich played in 10 games as an outside linebacker, recording eight tackles. He also had three kick returns for 17 yards.
In 2003, Gustovich special teams scout team player of the year.
A major in history , Gustovich is the son of Mark and Ginny Gustovich of McDonald.
Ohio Magic Teal wins
VIENNA -- The Ohio Magic-Teal 14U travel fast pitch team won its indoor league opener at the Thunderplex, defeating the Pittsburgh Metro Express 3-0.
Chrissy Porter of Canfield threw a no-hitter, striking out 10.
The defense was led by second baseman Molly Martino ( Poland), first baseman Mimi Cercone (Boardman) and catcher Lizzie Padgitt (Boardman).
Becky Hanna (Poland) and Cercone had three hits each.
In the second game, Porter struck out 12 of 18 batters faced, but the Magic lost to the Pittsburgh Pride 1-0.

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Westminster football's Titans of the Week were sophomore quarterback J.R. Barley (offense), senior defensive back Justin Martinchek (defense) and Mike Kohowski (special teams) (Mooney).

Cavs activate Wagner
CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers guard Dajuan Wagner was activated from the injured list Wednesday after missing Cleveland's first seven games this season with a sprained right ankle.
The club also placed forward Anderson Varejao on the injured list with knee tendinitis.
Browns player hitwith drunken driving
BEREA -- Cleveland Browns offensive guard Paul Zukauskas was arrested and charged with drunken driving following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.
Zukauskas, a four-year veteran, was stopped by the State Highway Patrol on Tuesday in suburban Cleveland. Troopers said he made a sudden right turn from the wrong lane and without signaling.
Zukauskas was arrested after a field sobriety test and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and making an improper right turn.
State Police Lt. Rick Zwayer said Zukauskas refused to take a breath test, which under state law will result in a one-year suspension of his license pending an appeal.

Pro Bowl voting
NEW YORK -- Daunte Culpepper was leading Pro Bowl fan balloting through Wednesday with 325,383 votes.
The Vikings quarterback outdistanced Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning (310,236) in voting that will continue through Dec. 19.
Leading among receivers was Philadelphia's Terrell Owens with 272,759. The top running back was the Giants' Tiki Barber (260,568).
The teams will be announced Dec. 22. The Pro Bowl will be played in Hawaii on Feb. 13. The AFC and NFC squads will be made up of the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches. Each groups vote counts one-third toward determining the rosters.
Tigers sign Percival
DETROIT -- Free agent Troy Percival and Detroit agreed Wednesday on a two-year contract, giving the Tigers two closers for their bullpen.
Percival, 35, was 2-3 with a 2.90 ERA and 33 saves last season with the Anaheim Angels, who made no attempt to re-sign him.
