LeFall sets up Akron's victory
His outstanding defensive play set the stage for the Zips' 31-19 win over Ohio.
ATHENS -- Dwayne LeFall returned an interception 60 yards for one touchdown and set up another score with a fumble recovery at the Ohio 1 in Akron's 31-19 victory on Saturday.
LeFall's fumble recovery set up Dan Basch's 1-yard touchdown plunge on the next play, giving Akron (6-4, 6-1 Mid-American Conference) a 24-13 lead.
Akron started the day tied for first place in the MAC's East Division with Miami (Ohio). The teams meet next week in Akron.
The Zips defense forced five Ohio (4-7, 2-6) turnovers and had seven sacks.
LeFall, who forced two fumbles, recovered two fumbles and had two sacks, gave the Zips a 14-13 lead at the half with his 60-yard interception return.
Kent St. 69, E. Michigan 17
KENT -- Joshua Cribbs threw for three touchdowns and scored twice more on a catch and a run to lead Kent State.
Kent State (4-6, 3-4) took the lead early on Cribbs' 22-yard TD to Darrell Dowery and never looked back, limiting Eastern Michigan to a field goal until late in the fourth quarter.
Cribbs was 28-for-33 for 306 yards and rushed for 104 yards, including a 2-yard TD run. He caught a 19-yard TD pass from wide receiver Derrick Bush in the third quarter.
Eastern Michigan (5-5, 4-3) allowed 575 yards of total offense with Cribbs alone gaining more yards than the Eagles' entire team.
Miami (Ohio) 42, W. Michigan 21
KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Luke Clemens rushed for a season-high 160 yards and three touchdowns, leading Miami within one win of its second consecutive MAC East championship.
Clemens scored all his touchdowns in the first half. His 2-yard scoring run with 2:04 left in the second quarter gave Miami a 21-7 lead.
The Broncos (1-9, 0-7), losing a ninth consecutive game for the first time since 1996, never got within two touchdowns after that. Western Michigan wide receiver Greg Jennings caught a game-high eight passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns, including a 46-yard scoring pass from Blayne Baggett.
Bowling Green 56, Marshall 35
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Omar Jacobs passed for 389 yards and five touchdowns and P.J. Pope added 117 yards rushing and two scores to lead Bowling Green.
Jacobs, who leads the nation with 32 touchdown passes, completed 24 of 37 passes with one interception. His scoring passes covered 8 and 45 yards to Charles Sharon, 13 yards to Steve Sanders and 4 yards to Pope.
The victory moved the Falcons (8-2, 6-1) into a share of the MAC's West Division lead with Toledo and Northern Illinois.
Pope carried 25 times for his 117 yards and added three catches for 21 yards. He also scored on a 1-yard plunge.
Buffalo 36, Cent. Michigan 6
AMHERST, N.Y. -- Quarterback P.J. Piskorik rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown for Buffalo.
Buffalo exploded for 28 second-quarter points as the Bulls (2-8, 2-6) handed Central Michigan (3-7, 2-5) its 13th straight road loss.Ball St.

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Dante Ridgeway's second touchdown catch with 7:29 left in the game gave Ball State a come-from-behind win.
Ridgeway hauled in a 38-yard score from Joey Lynch for the pair's second connection of the game to put the Cardinals (2-8, 2-5) ahead to stay at 21-17.
