DOWNTOWN YOUNGSTOWN Local artist's print pays tribute to vets of Smoky Hollow

YOUNGSTOWN -- Wick Neighbors and Streetscape unveiled a limited-edition print Thursday of the Smoky Hollow Memorial, with part of the proceeds from sales of the artwork being donated to maintain the monument.
The print, by Youngstown artist Bob Barko Jr., depicts the monument at Walnut and Rayen avenues. The monument dates to 1957. Streetscape maintains the monument; Wick Neighbors is revitalizing the Smoky Hollow neighborhood.
The print has representations of the dozen Smoky Hollow men who died in World War II and Korea, plus a scene of the rededication in 2003 featuring a saluting veteran and a veteran playing taps.
The 16-by-20-inch print sells for $30 and can be bought at Barko's Steel Town Studios at 8 N. Phelps St. or by calling Streetscape at (330) 727-9896.
