Mineral Ridge man sentenced



STRUTHERS -- Judge James R. Lanzo sentenced Nicholas G. Farmer, 18, of Mineral Ridge, to 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspension, and fined him $100 plus court costs after finding him guilty of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Farmer was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community service and fined $250 plus court costs after Lanzo found him guilty of driving under suspension.
Charges of carrying a concealed weapon, underage consumption of an alcoholic beverage and having an open container were all dismissed with costs.
Lanzo set a trial date of March 7, 2005, for Matthew G. Miller, 20, of Warren. Miller is charged with carrying a concealed weapon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Both men were arrested April 17 after a city resident told police that they had threatened him.
Three 17-year-old Austintown girls were also in the car. Two of the girls were charged with having open containers of beer.
Police confiscated 12 unopened 12-ounce cans of beer, two opened 12-ounce cans of beer, and three empty beer cans.
