NEW YORK-PENN LEAGUE 38 Scrappers games set at Eastwood in '05



The home opener is June 21 against Jamestown.
NILES -- The Mahoning Valley Scrappers will begin defense of their New York-Penn League Championship with the home opener at Eastwood Field on June 21 against the Jamestown Jammers, a Florida Marlins affiliate.
The Scrappers' schedule was released Monday.
The Scrappers will play 38 home games at Eastwood Field against eight New York-Penn League opponents.
The Scrappers will face Pinckney Division rivals Auburn Doubledays (Toronto Blue Jays), Batavia Muckdogs (Philadelphia Phillies) and Jammers.
In addition to division rivals, Eastwood Field will play host for interdivision games against the Oneonta Tigers (Detroit Tigers), Lowell Spinners (Boston Red Sox), Williamsport Crosscutters (Pittsburgh Pirates), Staten Island Yankees (New York Yankees) and Brooklyn Cyclones (New York Mets).
The Scrappers have ticket packages available for the 2005 season. Options include full season tickets, which is all 38 scheduled home games; partial plans (10 games, plus opening day for free), and Grand Slam Value Packs (10 games, plus free food, Pepsi and Fun Zone coupons).
There are also group outing packages and fundraising opportunities are available for non-profit groups.

The Scrappers promotional schedule lists every Thursday home game as Buck Night ($1 reserved seat tickets, 12 ounce drafts, Pepsi products and hot dogs).
Friday home games are "Fireworks Fridays" with a post-game fireworks show and pre-game bands from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
