CANFIELD -- Free GED practice tests will be given from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Dec. 3 and Jan. 7 at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center on North Palmyra Road, and from 4 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 and Jan. 6 at the Educational Resource Center in Southern Park Mall.
No pre-registration is required.
Those who want to take the practice test must have a driver's license or state identification card and be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in high school. Those who pass the test can get a fee waiver for the official GED test.

Driver fires shotsat vehicle on I-680
YOUNGSTOWN -- A 29-year-old Lake Milton man passed but doesn't believe he cut off a white car on Interstate 680 around 1:20 a.m. Saturday but told police the driver fired at least five shots at his GMC truck.
The shooting happened at the Belle Vista Avenue exit.
The Lake Milton man drove to a drugstore parking lot to call police. The officer found three bullet holes in the tailgate, one in the driver's side bed of the truck and one in the rear bumper.
Back at the freeway exit, police found five shell casings where the shooter had stopped his car to fire his gun.
Club operator cited
YOUNGSTOWN -- David T. Riley, 37, of North Highland Avenue, Girard, was issued a citation at 3:19 a.m. Sunday that charged him with illegally operating a bottle club.
Police said they investigated after hearing loud music and seeing a lot of cars in the parking lot of the Disconnected Motorcycle Club at 3221 Southern Boulevard. Riley told police that he was permitted to have liquor on the premises as a private club but could not provide a membership list.
Police said they entered through the unlocked front door and noted that the business appeared to be open to the general public. They saw patrons dancing and beer cans.
Man faces charges
YOUNGSTOWN -- Haryl Dabney, 37, of Scioto Street was arrested on charges of driving under suspension, possession of crack cocaine and failure to comply with a police order around 2 a.m. Sunday on the South Side.
Police said Dabney failed to signal a turn and failed to stop at a stop sign. Dabney fled from police at a high rate of speed, reports show.
The said he was later seen running through the former South High School field house parking lot, where he was caught. Numerous rocks of suspected crack were found in his pockets, police said.
