XBOARDMAN -- Nuptial vows were exchanged during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony as Carolyn A. Johnson and Jacob A. Machel, both of 3555 Elk Run Court, Groveport, were united in marriage Oct. 2 at Evangel Baptist Church.
The Rev. Randy Brunko presided at the wedding, and afterward the couple accepted congratulations during a reception held at McDonald Knights of Columbus Hall.
Parents of the bride are Michael and Helen Johnson, 3310 Fremont Ave., Youngstown, and the groom is a son of Dennis and Lynn Machel, 140 Trumbull Ave., Girard. The newlyweds live in Groveport.
The bride's ivory halter-style gown was enhanced with champagne lace and featured a corset bodice.
Latt & eacute;-colored gowns were worn by the bride's sister and honor attendant, Evelyn Johnson of Grove City, Ohio, and the bridesmaids, Maranda Hobart of Youngstown, and Barbara Gwinn of Columbus, a cousin of the bride.
The duties of best man were performed by Joseph Majousky of Girard, and the groom's brothers, Nathan Machel of Toledo and Randy Machel of Girard, served as groomsmen.
The bride is an associate with Wal-Mart Optical in Groveport, and the groom is an associate with Pier One Imports in Grove City.
